Talking Iraq.

I would like to comment on some quotes from Sen. Murtha, one of the leading Democrat opposers to the war.

First, the Kudo's - No. 2 House Republican Roy Blunt challenged Democrats on Friday to pass a $50 billion war spending package, pouncing on new remarks by Democratic Rep. John Murtha who said, "I think the surge is working."

On this one, applause to Murtha for moving toward honesty and non-biased evaluation. Everyone is saying that the surge is working, but the politcal answer is more often skewed toward party politics and leverage for your cause. Also, shame on Roy Blunt for exploiting a positive comment by Murtha. That will only cause him to think twice next time and if he knows his words will be headlined by his counterparts, he won't give any ground. That's not moving toward cooperation.

Now to the rest - "I think the surge is working, but that's only one element," said Murtha, who chairs the defense appropriations subcommittee. "And the surge is working for a couple of different reasons. And one reason is the increase in troops."

OK, that makes sense.

Murtha, speaking to reporters Thursday in his hometown of Johnstown, Pa., mixed in renewed criticism of the Bush administration's management of the Iraq war, saying it was waged with too few troops, and that it is too costly.

OK, which one is it? You can't have more troops and spend less money! They aren't going to just show up there for free!!! You want this president to bring more troops and spend less money, and at the same time restrict what he can spend? It gets better....

THE VERY NEXT LINE - "We can no longer afford to spend $14 billion a month on this war and let our readiness slip," Murtha said. But, "If you put more forces in, things will work out," he said.

Can I just say something? "What the Frick?" We can't spend any more money, but if we put more troops in, things will work out. There's no way to win. He's basically saying, if we bring in more troops, we will win, but I won't approve any more money, so let's just lose...It gets better...

The House of Representatives has passed a $50 billion funding bill that provides the president, our troops, and our nation with a responsible plan for bringing our troops home," Murtha's statement read. "The President should heed the advice of the American people and allow this funding bill to become law. "

The American people have been educated by The Dixie Chix, John Melloncamp, and Tom Cruise...They aren't exactly "up" on the status of the war or really even what is at stake. Let's let our public officals duke this one out. I wouldn't let the American people decide what I'm eating for breakfast, let alone the direction of a crucial war.

Sparking the economy in MI

What a wonderful way to attract new consumers to Michigan to take advantage of one of our most abundant resources...SNOW!!! Now we are thinking. When times are tough, let's charge more! Obviously, then we can make more money! Not so much...

How about finding a way to make it more attractive to travelers to come to Michigan? How about incentives for companies that reach certain levels? NOPE, instead we are going to charge tax on a family going out on a skiing trip, or even better, the ticket tax...Let's charge a family even MORE to go to a professional baseball game! Now they have to choose between going to Disney World, or going to a Tigers game. Even better yet, let's use the money we receive on those skiing trips, to build a fence to protect the turtles from getting hit by cars. That will get our economy "a-blazin!" How do these people have jobs? Oh yeah, our votes...We can only blame ourselves.

It's unfortunate, but it's this uncreative thinking that is causing Michigan to slip down the slippery slope (Pun intended) into poverty. Get ready folks, if Steam Engine Hillary makes it to the Oval Office, we can look forward to these same wonderful ideas!!!

Hillary = Granholm x 50

Here we go again

I've hit on this before, and I do not believe that what this man did is right, however, how can he be charged with murder in this case? If killing a baby is murder, does it make a difference who makes the call? It's murder if the dad wants the baby dead, but it's not murder if the mom wants it dead? We are giving women in America the right to play God and decide who has the right to live and who is sentenced to death. If you are calling this murder, it is murder in ALL instances. This man is charged for murder for killing that baby, but if the woman would have wanted an abortion it wouldn't have been murder? I really don't get how people can think this ok?

Hey, I HAVE AN IDEA!!!

Let's pull out of Iraq so this can happen more often!!! Really, it's a good idea because it may win us the 2008 election! Who cares about the people over there. Who cares about the little kids watching their parents heads getting cut off, I want to win the election.

Or maybe we should use this story for political gain like the democrats would. They use the gloom and doom of Iraq so that they can take the White House and run the USA into the ground by conforming our culture into even more of a socially liberal breeding ground of abortion, homosexuality, Godless schools and Godless government. If we want to be like them, we'd use this article to prove a point. I'm not afraid to do it, but I'll bet CNN is.

I will continue to post these

Every time I find one.

Why waste airwaves on all the negative nonsense that is out there for the sole purpose of political persuasion. I'm sick of it...When the truth is, the strong majority of our military have the attitude of this soldier, we continue to be infiltrated with propaganda that is intended to sway your thinking for 2008.
